Protect24 has revealed a five day plan to protect high rise residents from fire.

Their expert team retro-fit sprinkler systems as part of an innovative fire protection solution designed to specifically to safeguard those residents living in multi-storey tower blocks.

Protect24 provide local authorities and social housing associations with a complete turnkey solution which includes a dedicated customer care team to support residents.

The customer care work closely with residents ensuring they fully understand and embrace the process from design, planning, installation and hand over.

Protect24 Managing Director Mark Lyons, said: “We take great pride in the way our customer service team work with residents.

“We believe it is crucial that residents fully understand the process and can be confident that we will show their home great care and respect.

“Residents recognise the importance of fitting proper fire protection but have understandable concerns about the potential impact on their home and personal belongings.

“We take time and effort to walk them through the process and to allay those concerns before any work begins.”

The Protect24 team create a bespoke fire protection plan for each property following a full survey of the building and type 4 Fire Risk Assessment.

Following consultation with residents, the Protect24 carry out a three-stage installation service, which includes plant room installation, primary vertical and horizontal pipework to each level, and then finally connect to individual homes.

Residents are invited to a ‘Meet The Contractor Day’ before work commences to satisfy any questions or uncertainty.

“As far as the residents are concerned we only need access to their homes over the course of five days on average, and even then there are only two full days” explained Mr Lyons.

“As a guide our team would need two to three hours on day one drilling the holes required for pipework, day two see the installation of pipework to every room, maybe two hours testing on day three and on day four the team conceal the pipework and make good before completing and handing over on day five.

“Obviously, every property is different so the times may vary but it is a speedy service that requires minimal intrusion for residents.”

Protect24 retrofit sprinkler systems have a lifespan of more than 30 years and require six monthly service visits with monthly visual inspections.
