Protect24 have been appointed to the Hyde Group Fire Safety framework to retrofit fire sprinklers.

Hyde Group are one of the largest housing associations in England and Protect24 are number one on the framework for sprinklers and dry risers.

They own or manage more than 50,000 homes in London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, the East of England and the East Midlands.

The framework is part of a long-term commitment by Hyde to improve fire safety standards for residents following the Grenfell disaster.

Protect24 Managing Director Mark Lyons, said: “We are very proud to have appointed to the Hyde framework.

“This further demonstrates our ability to deliver industry-leading bespoke fire safety packages for clients.

“The framework covers essential fire safety works which will ensure residents continue to be safe in their home.

Hyde established a Fire Safety Taskforce following Grenfell to ensure the safety of everyone living in a Hyde home.

Hyde Group Chief Executive Elaine Bailey, said: “Nothing is more important than the safety of the people who live in our homes.

“We are determined to ensure that a tragedy like Grenfell could never happen to our residents, so are making our buildings as safe as they can be, both inside and out.

“Over the past year, we have completed intrusive fire risk assessments of all our buildings more than six-storeys high and have been fixing any issues, in both individual homes and communal areas, to a high quality and as quickly as possible.”

Hyde’s Fire Safety Taskforce will conduct home visits, drop-in sessions for residents and carry out minor repairs.

They will also undertake major works were deemed necessary to retrospectively install fire safety measures, which will include fire sprinklers to residents homes.

As well as general fire safety measures, Hyde Group have established a bespoke four-year Fire Safety Framework to undertake major works.

Protect24 were appointed number one supplier of fire sprinkler systems, along with 25 other organisations.

Elaine Bailey, added: “Building safety is a vitally important issue and we are proud to have established this framework with excellent partners and to be able to make it available to all public sector organisations for their use.

“We put contractors through a rigorous evaluation process based on our own ‘quality for money’ approach before appointing them to the framework.

To ensure Hyde’s goals are achieved the Specification, Price Framework and Framework Agreement are designed to complement each other.

The framework focuses on value and innovation through close collaborative partnerships between the Contracting Authority, future users and the specialist framework installers and contractors.
