Protect24 Managing Director Mark Lyons has addressed delegates at a leading fire safety best practice event in London.
He provided an overview of Protect24’s sprinkler project and the focus on tenant engagement.
Lyons is regarded as one of the UK’s leading authorities on the provision of retrospective fire safety measures for social housing residents.
Protect24 specialise in providing bespoke retrospective fire protection packages for local authorities and housing associations.
He said: “It was an honour to be invited to speak and a pleasure to be able to pass on some of our knowledge and experience of the sector.
“We have been able to successfully install retrospective fire protection measures, including sprinklers, into hundreds of homes with tremendous success.
“Aside from our expertise in the physical installation of the required equipment and our overall planning, our success has been largely down to our tenant engagement.
“The way we communicate with residents is vitally important and the feedback proves we are getting it right.
“Retrospective fire protection measures should no longer be regarded as a luxury for some, they are a necessity.”
Lyons was invited to speak at the Asset Management Network best practice group –Best practice in fire safety at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Bloomsbury in London.
The event, organised by the Housing Quality Network and Liberty and was chaired by HQN Chief Executive Alistair McIntosh with delegates attending from around the country.
